Slit the sides of the peppers and place them in a large jar with a tight-fitting lid. Add the oil and close the jar tightly. Store in a sunny place for 2 weeks. Strain, discarding the chili peppers, and decant into a glass bottle. Seal and store in a cool, dark place. Makes 1 pint.
